Why It Matters
In communities across Canada, we need significant resources to improve on the services we rely on, including healthcare, transit, infrastructure and education. Our resource economy alone generates more than $22-billion in revenue for governments, but we can do better. Our ability to make investments into community services is limited by our country’s inability to move our resources to market. As a country, we lose millions of dollars every day by selling our resources at a sharply discounted price. We need to invest in natural resource development and innovative technology so future generations can have access to reliable and affordable energy, which fuels their daily lives and supports a healthy environment and growing economy.
